Rail Delivery Group Hackathon

News No Comments

Yesterday our team went to the Rail Delivery Group Open Data Hackathon.

They spent the day working in a team with other coders to create and develop an idea using the open data available in the rail industry from sources such as Network Rail, National Rail Enquiries and Passenger Focus.

Our team’s name was Red Zebra and the concept we came up with was ‘making rail travel easy’.  It was great to meet others who are keen to work with the open data available and to discuss innovative ideas.  We had an interesting day and will certainly look to take part in future events of this nature.

To see tweets and photos from the hackathon, see #RailHackDay on Twitter.

Rail Experience Europe 2013

News No Comments

We will be exhibiting at Rail Experience Europe 2013 on 13-14 November in Amsterdam. We can’t wait to be part of this conference, which is all about creating first class passenger experiences.

With rail travel becoming increasingly important in Europe there is growing pressure for all train companies, private or state controlled, to add innovation, service quality and value for money to their offerings. We will be exhibiting and showcasing technologies that will appeal to all those who are interested in mobile apps, online self-service tools, social customer service or revenue protection.

There will be key speakers from the industry, round table debates with your peers and other events to help you get the most out of your time and help you focus on improving the passenger experience as a whole.

We look forward to seeing you there. But if your schedule doesn’t allow you to visit in person please drop us a line and we can arrange a demonstration at your offices.

For more information please get in touch at info@rail-apps.com.

How National Rail Enquiries Uses Virtual Agents for Multi-Channel Customer Support

Blog No Comments

The introduction of Siri on the iPhone brought attention to virtual agent technology, which we have been developing and implementing using natural language virtual agents that give users the sensation of communicating with a ‘real’ person. Since 2007, National Rail Enquiries (NRE) has utilised Ask Lisa, a virtual agent, to successfully provide customer support across multiple channels.

NRE is the definitive source of rail information in Great Britain, and uses virtual agent technology to communicate information about travelling by rail to customers through the UK and abroad.

National Rail Enquiries WebinarEarlier this year in March 2013, we took part in the webinar How National Rail Enquiries Uses Virtual Agents for Multi-Channel Customer Support, which was led by speakers Kathryn Daniels of National Rail Enquiries, Maria Ward of Virtual Zone Ltd, and Chris Ezekiel of Creative Virtual. During this webinar, National Rail Enquiries illustrated how ‘Ask Lisa’ has been the perfect solution in providing customer support across multiple channels, including directly through integration with their Facebook page.

Kathryn and Maria were joined during the webinar by Creative Virtual’s Founder & CEO, Chris Ezekiel. Chris provided a closer look at additional virtual agent integrations and functionality as well V-Portal™, Creative Virtual’s multi-channel knowledge management tool. You’ll get a glimpse into the technology behind the creation of a virtual agent and hear how to implement one of your own to enhance customer experience, build brand loyalty and reduce customer support costs.
